Samsung Galaxy S i9000

Samsung_GalaxyS_i9000

Samsung’s newest smartphone flagship is currently one of the top products in the high-end segment. It is a very slim device and despite the 4-inch screen it is not perceived as an over-sized phone. While most Apple-owners will designate this machine as an iPhone-rized clone, but once in use the owners will only appreciate the handling and top quality user interface (Android OS) compared to its main rival.

The screen is very clear and sharp (AMOLED 4″), only when used outside in full sunny conditions the screen becomes unreadable. The screen will rotate very quickly upon moving the device 90 or 180 degrees, watching YouTube movies on this absolute cracker of a screen becomes a delight unsurpassed in the industry so far.
Any Blackberry or Nokia user will quickly make the switch to the Samsung Galaxy S i9000 once they have viewed the capabilities of this screen, it’s just that awesome.

The camera (on the front of the phone) is also of very high standard and shoots video in 720p. While most smartphone buyers are not really interested in having these features on a cell phone, they are nice to have.

Nokia N8: Next Update

nokia_n8

It will be less than a month before Nokia will ship their newest smartphone N8 to the dealers. The phone was announced last spring and Nokia is already showing the N8 to the press this week. The design, the new Symbian OS 3 and the 12 mega-pixel camera are the most important selling features.

Yes, a 12 mega-pixel camera with HD video quality can be called quite unique in the ever more competitive mobile phone market. Most potential customers will be interested to know how this latest smartphone from Nokia holds up against the Apple iPhone 4, but it is not really a fair comparison – the iPhone 4 has a 5 mega-pixel camera, no challenge for the Nokia N8 (which has a Carl Zeiss lens as well to boost).
